Accessibility

This page states where this site's accessibility actually stands. It claims no conformance rate, for a simple reason: no full audit has been carried out. Announcing a level without having established it would be precisely the move I hold against others elsewhere.

What this site aims for

Conformance with RGAA 4.1 and WCAG 2.1 level AA. That is a target, not a settled result. This personal site falls outside the scope of article 47 of the French law of 11 February 2005, which covers public services and large companies: the effort here is voluntary.

A deliberately simple site

This site's soberness is a choice, and it serves as the first accessibility strategy. No framework, no third-party library, no downloaded font, no external delivery network: the home page weighs about a dozen kilobytes and triggers four requests. Text is served as HTML, reading depends on no script, the typography is your system's own, and the light or dark theme follows your setting rather than my taste. The only audience measurement is a self-hosted counter, loaded asynchronously.

None of this is decorative asceticism. A light page loads on a weak connection, scales up without falling apart, is rendered cleanly to a screen reader, and stays readable when a script fails. Reading comfort and accessibility are the same work here, done once.

Complexity, when it arrives, comes from elsewhere: from the links out to my other sites and to my projects. Those destinations have their own constraints, their own dependencies and their own schedules. They are not covered by this statement, which concerns this site alone. If one of them shuts the door on you, the address below is still the right place to tell me.

What has been tested, and how

Last check: 8 September 2026, across all 63 pages of the site.

Two rule engines were run on every page, axe-core and HTML_CodeSniffer, in a real browser driven by pa11y, walking the site's sitemap. These tools are free software: anyone can repeat this check and verify what I claim here. I replay it before each deployment.

A limit worth keeping in mind: automated tooling covers only about a third of the criteria. A clean scan does not amount to conformance. Everything involving keyboard navigation, screen reader output, the relevance of labels, or time-based media requires human examination, which has not yet been carried out.

What has not been checked yet

• The full keyboard journey, including tab order and focus traps.
• Actual screen reader output (NVDA, VoiceOver, Orca).
• Whether the figures' alternative text is genuinely useful to a reader who cannot see them, beyond merely being present.
• Behaviour at 200% zoom and in portrait orientation on a small screen.
• Downloadable documents, in particular the CVs in PDF form.

As this site is not subject to the legal obligation, the French Défenseur des droits procedure does not apply to it. It remains open for sites that are subject to it: complaint form.
